Celebrating Cultural Diversity and Championing Equity

Earlier this afternoon, I had an incredible time at the Milton AfroJazz Fest! A huge thank you to the organizers (Centre Canadien pour l’Unité de la Famille & Bantou Production), the vibrant and energetic performers, and the passionate volunteer dancers who brought the Milton Community Sports Park to life with their positivity.

Milton is proudly home to a rapidly growing African, Caribbean, and Black community that brings so much life, talent, and richness to our town. Seeing everyone come together to share their heritage through music and food is exactly what makes Milton such a wonderful place to live.

As we celebrate this culture, our political representatives must also step up and meet the evolving needs of our Afro-Caribbean and Black residents. By advocating for a permanent cultural space for community gatherings, championing stronger representation in civic leadership, and working together to break down systemic barriers, we can empower the next generation.

I am committed to ensuring equity in delivery of our municipal services to provide an enabling environment for every demographic in Milton to truly thrive.
