Building Bridges & Planning for Milton’s Future

This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of attending the Unity in the Community (UIC) Seniors picnic at Milton Community Park. It was wonderful to see so many vibrant community members gathered together for an afternoon of warm fellowship, great food, and candid discussions.

During the event, I was fortunate to introduce myself to Mayor Gordon Krantz and have an insightful conversation about the current challenges facing our town and where Milton is headed next. As a municipal infrastructure practitioner, I really appreciated the Mayor’s willingness to connect and listen to my ideas related to best practices in delivering public infrastructure services, including what Canadian municipalities can learn from Scandinavian countries. A huge thank you to Mayor Krantz for an engaging discussion (and for showing me how to pose properly for a photo like a pro!).

I have always believed that leadership is about collaboration over competition. Open discussions between political candidates about practical solutions and executing solid ideas should always happen, regardless of the outcome of the upcoming municipal election. When good ideas are brought to the table and put into action, the ultimate winner is our community.

Special thanks as well to UIC management and all the volunteers for organizing such a memorable gathering for our seniors.
