Imagine hiring a pilot only because they left a glossy flyer at your front door.
Imagine hiring a mechanic to fix your brakes because they kissed a baby on your porch.
Imagine picking a surgeon because they handed you a free donut and yelled, “Better health for all!”
You wouldn’t. When you hire someone for a serious job, you don’t care about catchy slogans or who has the most lawn signs. You care about strict competence, efficiency, and the technical expertise to solve complex problems.
It’s time we applied those exact same criteria to our elected officials!
Milton’s rapid growth demands more than empty promises and the same old political rhetoric. We are electing stewards of public infrastructure who set the strategic direction and allocate the financial resources that directly affect our daily lives.
Miltonians need representatives who understand that dual-tier municipal governance (local and regional government) is about responsibly managing a multi-billion-dollar infrastructure portfolio, not a popularity contest.
My name is Salman Zafar. As a strategic infrastructure asset management practitioner with 13 years of experience working with Ontario municipalities, I am running for Regional Councillor in Milton Ward 3 to bring hands-on technical oversight to the Council table and be a strong, practical voice for all Miltonians.
