When making politically convenient choices at the Council table, are we leaving our kids with difficult challenges down the road?
Intergenerational equity means distributing the cost of our infrastructure fairly across all the generations who actually benefit from it.
It’s a common misconception that this requires immediate tax hikes. In reality, it’s about responsible long-term planning. The current replacement cost of Town of Milton’s infrastructure assets is approximately $3.6 billion. Putting the right strategies in place today is how we protect both current and future residents from massive, sudden tax spikes when these local assets reach the end of their lifespan.
Building a sustainable Milton isn’t about short-term fixes or quick political wins; it’s about making sure our children inherit a town that is financially secure and well-maintained.
I’m committed to bringing practical, long-term stewardship to Council so we protect our community today and tomorrow.
